The new Burleigh/Morton County Regional Jail is a facility that replaced the aging jails for each of the two counties involved in the project. The project, master planned for 1,000 beds, includes a first phase of 475 secure beds in a podular design and all jail-support areas; including administration, booking, inmate programs, medical, and staff-support. The beds are divided between dormitory, direct supervision cells, indirect supervision cells (medium and maximum), and special needs. The design emphasizes staff efficiency by minimizing inmate movement and maximizing direct line of sight design.
